Christopher Gladwell
Christopher brings
to his teaching an understanding and appreciation of the natural
awesome potential of each of us as powerful, loving and talented beings. Christopher has studied yoga for over 20 years and has
been teaching for 14. He trains yoga teachers in Bristol (BWY
Diploma) and leads specialist workshops internationally. He writes
regularly for yoga publications and is currently studying for a Masters degree
in Philosophical Perspectives on Body and Being, focusing on the Tantric,
Buddhist and Yogic view. He teaches yoga classes in Bristol.
Christopher has a background in martial
arts and zoology, and first began his
exploration of yoga with the Iyengar school.
He
then
studied with the Satyananda school with whom he studied extensively and
qualified as a yoga teacher. As a practitioner of Ashtanga
vinyasa yoga his main teachers have
been John Scott, Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, David Swenson and Danny Paradise,
blessed by Guruji to teach.
Christopher, initiated by Swami Niranjananda, spiritual
heir of Swami Satyananda (founder of the Satyananda school of yoga) as
Vairagyamurti, has also studied within Christian, Sufi (Muslim), Hindu
and African traditions as well as having explored Shamanic teachings.
Christopher has studied, practised and taught
Massage and Shiatsu for almost 20 years and studied Thai massage. He has
completed training to a high level in both Hypnotherapy and NLP, being a
certified trainer in NLP.
